Pottery Classes Designed For Real Growth

Our classes are built around learning by doing.

Students receive hands-on instruction while building skills through repetition, demonstration, and practice. Every instructor brings a unique artistic voice and teaching approach while creating a welcoming environment where students can grow comfortably at their own pace.

Perfect for:

  • First-time students

  • Returning potters

  • Creative hobbyists

  • Experienced makers looking to refine skills

Sculpture & Handbuilding Classes

Clay doesn’t always start at the wheel. Sometimes the best ideas begin by building slowly, shaping by hand, carving into a surface, or exploring form in a completely different way.

Our Handbuilding & Sculpture classes are designed for both beginners and experienced artists looking to expand their creative practice. Students explore techniques including slab building, coil construction, hollow forms, texture and surface design, carving, sculptural composition, and functional pottery made entirely by hand. Whether you’re creating sculpture, functional ceramics, or experimenting with new ideas, these classes are built around exploration, creative freedom, and artistic growth.

Instruction is led by Alix, an accomplished sculptor whose work ranges from highly realistic, lifelike forms to striking abstract sculpture. Along with an incredible depth of technical knowledge, Alix brings patience, encouragement, and a thoughtful teaching approach that helps students build skills while developing their own artistic voice.

All materials are included. Just bring curiosity and a willingness to create.

New To Pottery?

Good.

Many Flux students walk through the door having never touched clay before.

The mess. The learning curve. The first crooked bowl.

That's part of it.

Pottery teaches patience, process, and problem solving. It slows things down in a world that rarely does.

Our instructors guide students step by step in an environment designed to feel encouraging, approachable, and grounded.

No experience required.

Experienced Potter?

Flux isn't only for beginners.

For returning makers and experienced ceramic artists, classes provide an opportunity to deepen technique, refine process, and reconnect with making.
