Join us for Alix’s welcoming Intro to Sculpture & Hand-Building Class at FLUX Studio & Gallery. Designed for beginners and anyone looking to build a strong foundation in clay, this three-hour weekly class is the perfect place to explore creativity and learn the timeless art of making by hand.

Working without the wheel, students will be introduced to essential handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots, coil building, slab construction, joining methods, and surface decoration. From functional pottery to sculptural forms, you’ll learn how to transform clay into pieces that are personal, expressive, and uniquely your own.

Whether you’re interested in animals, abstract forms, vessels, or simply experimenting with clay for the first time, this class offers a supportive and inspiring environment to learn at your own pace.

With more than 20 years of experience, Alix is a patient and knowledgeable instructor who makes the process approachable, fun, and rewarding. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance while building confidence with clay, learning core techniques, and discovering your own creative style.

This class meets Fridays from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM, giving you plenty of time each week to settle in, learn new skills, and make meaningful progress. Students will also return for a dedicated glaze session to complete finished work.

Includes:
